Mouse Monoclonal Antibodies Direct Against Mist 1

A novel monoclonal antibody targeting the Mist1 protein is available for basic research and drug discovery, particularly in cancer detection and treatment.
Technology No. 64058

Mist1 is a transcription factor expressed in the pancreas, mammary glands, and stomach. Mist1 is essential for normal cellular function. The lack of Mist1 is observed in pancreatic cancer. For 2013, the American Cancer Society's pancreatic cancer estimates in the United States include about 45,220 new cases and about 38,460 deaths.

Purdue University researchers have generated Mist1 specific mouse monoclonal antibodies. These antibodies are useful in detecting the Mist1 protein in histological preparations as well as in protein extracts. The anti-Mist1 antibodies are used in basic research and drug discovery, particularly for certain cancers.
